Case 4: Highly qualified staff, but not ICT skilled
Staff working at Tonuso are highly qualified. Over 40 per cent have a masters degree in social sciences. Working with ICT was hardly a part of the curriculum. ICT knowledge, let alone knowledge of social media, was very low.
We partnered with Netlog, one of the biggest social media platforms in Belgium. Netlog agreed to give an intitial training for the staff. During one afternoon, the Tonuso staff got initiated in creating a profile, setting privacy settings, upload and tagging pictures and so on. After the course, we made sure that the staff had access to computers and internet so that they could practice. This was not always obvious because it looked more like playing around then actual work to some staff members.
Backup from the manangement is not a luxury!
